About pcapLume
pcapLume is an offline PCAP forensics engine for macOS, built for network forensic analysts, incident responders, and security researchers. It carves and reassembles files from captured traffic, fingerprints Layer-2 hardware with offline OUI catalogs, and hunts threats with ahead-of-time YARA scanning — all inside a local evidence vault that preserves the chain of custody from ingestion checksum to exported dossier.
pcapLume is built by ProfWorkBench, LLC in New York and distributed exclusively through the Mac App Store as a free download with paid unlocks in-app. The engine is fully functional with the network cable unplugged: analysis never leaves the machine, optional threat-intelligence lookups are off by default, and payload data is never transmitted in any mode.
Approved boilerplate
pcapLume — Every packet. Every byte. Never leaves your Mac.
pcapLume is an offline PCAP forensics engine for macOS that turns captured network traffic into court-ready evidence. It reassembles files from TCP streams, maps hardware on the wire with offline OUI intelligence, and flags Metasploit loaders, C2 beacons, and timing anomalies with compiled YARA rules — entirely on-device, with zero telemetry. pcapLume is available on the Mac App Store as a free download; Pro capability unlocks in-app. pcapLume is localized in 15 languages.
